We offer comprehensive care using the latest nuclear medical diagnostic and treatment techniques based on the most recent scientific findings. As part of University Hospital Rostock, we also contribute to medical research and the development of innovative molecular imaging and therapy methods.

Thyroid Diseases

In our thyroid outpatient department, we examine benign and malignant thyroid diseases, in particular for further clarification of thyroid nodules, for planning radioiodine therapy / thyroid surgery or in follow-up care after thyroid therapy or surgery.

Therapies

Therapeutic treatment using radionuclides is a mainstay of our clinic. We focus on the treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the thyroid gland, prostate carcinoma and neuroendocrine tumors. We also offer further innovative therapies for other tumor diseases.

PET/CT Diagnostics

PET/CT is one of the most modern methods for detecting tumors and enables precise localization in just one examination. However, other diseases (e.g. inflammation, heart disease, brain diseases) can also be diagnosed using PET. We use a variety of different PET tracers for this purpose, which are produced every day in our department.

Nuclear Medical Functional Diagnostics

Our clinic offers a comprehensive range of functional examinations of various organs, e.g. the skeleton, kidneys, lungs, brain and heart. Various examinations are also available for tumor diagnostics.

Teaching

The training of the next generation of physicians is particularly important to us. We teach students of human medicine and biosciences and train assistant doctors. Our activities also include supporting other hospital-related training of professional groups, e.g. the training of medical technologists.

Research

Our research activities include the development and clinical implementation of new pharmaceuticals for PET diagnostics and the treatment of oncological diseases. We have state-of-the-art technology, laboratories and a small animal imaging center at our disposal for this purpose. We also participate in clinical studies, whereby interdisciplinary cooperation is particularly important to us.
